Today is my first day back at work. It wasn't too hard to come back today since Kailey is at home with Rob and I am going home at lunchtime to see how my peanut is doing. Right now I hate not being home to catch some of my daytime talk shows more than anything!
Tomorrow it will hit me though. Kailey has her first day at the sitters house. I interviewed 2 places and loved both of them. The first one is in my neighborhood. The lady there does newsletters, class pictures, projects, pizza parties, holiday parties, etc. It was great but Kailey wont be benefiting from any of that for awhile. This lady also had a lot of toddlers and would also have another infant. I just wasnt sure if Kailey would get the attention a newborn should be receiving.
The second lady that I interviewed is actually my friend's doula. She lives right next to where I work. I went to see her and loved her. She has a 4 month old boy and then 1-2 days a week she watches a little girl who is 16 months old. It was a perfect fit. She will be going to daycare there Tuesday - Thursday. Mondays my mother-in-law will watch her and on Fridays my mom will watch her.
Rob is still off so I will probably only use the daycare 2 days a week but I figured not only do I have to get into a routine of taking her in the morning, she needs to too.
On a positive note, we are going on 3 nights of sleeping through the night. Kailey's been going down to sleep at 10:30pm and waking up anywhere from 6-7am.

I feel for ya, sista ... I am sooo ready for July (when I get to quit and stay home full-time).
That had to be hard. To find the perfect someone to watch her. I am lucky enough, and on a mad strict budget, but I get to stay home with Mia and Alex.
We decided though, once they are in preschool. I will pick up some sort of part time work, so Ed can go back to one job.
Good to hear about the sleep schedule. I wish everyone what I had with Mia. After 2 months she was on a schedule, same as now. Sleep at 7pm and up at 7am.
2 little naps before she was one, then she went to just one nap. Routine is good. For you and her. Sometimes you just gotta break it. But I really try to stick to it as best I can.
At least until Alex gets here. Then I start over...
Dominique..It's Jen Merriman..I went to Nativity with you...and I used to babysit the Kovalcik kids when you lived on Waverly....I read Jacki's blog and click on yours to see what is happening with the lil one!!! I too have a Kaylee!!! Mine is 18 months old now...That is great that you are putting Kailey in daycare while she is young like this..I did the same thing with my Kaylee and she LOVES it there!!!! The younger the better....
